Who cares Mana Cina Ada???

The country's so called association that is supposedly representing the chinese community is facing its worst crisis of the century. The people that behind all the crisis speak to the entire world as if they are indeed the leaders of this major community of the county. They speak as if the chinese community is all behind them. The speak as they are indeed representing the entire chinese community.

What these "chinese leaders" failed to realise is that the majority and I really meant the MAJORITY of the chinese community, don't even care less that this association exist or goes to the dump. What these leaders failed to realise is that the association has taken its existence in this country so much for granted. Just take the number of its members and compare that with the chinese population in the country.

This chinese association just have to take a poll from the entire chinese community to gauge its relevance in this nation. I wonder what is that that blinds the eyes of all these groups of people that are fighting everyday about their political lives, not knowing that the chinese themselves are laughing at them.

Mana Cina Ada - all you leaders, party members and the association itself are a total embarassment to the chinese people in this country and to the country in general. The chinese people have existed and survived in this country for so many years and we will continue to exist without the association. The chinese people dont need them. It is better if their efforts, time and money are channeled elsewhere to better help themselves or other deserving individuals.

The naung challenge

Exactly 15 months after the MtK climb, I am taking on another challenge, this time of a hill in Klang Valley. Bukit Naung as it is called and with a group of people from the MtK climb as well as my church. Not sure how the terrain is but reading from blog, it may take the entire day to go up and down again. Well, no pain, no gain. Will just have to go through it and see myself.

Hard and long wait

The political situation in this country is like acid in a glass of alkaline solution. They mixed and become neutral.

No, I was referring to my feelings of the going ons in politics of this nation. I feel numb. Very. Period.

Heavenly Father's watching

People really hate that man thissssssssssssssss much. People ostracise him, people criticise him, people just want to rid of him. Me? I dont want to be part of all these bandwagon, cos I am no god and dont want to be part of this sinning. All I know is that He is watching.

Dry season

It's dry, hazy and lazy. I was referring to myself. I have been plain lazy and tired to write nowadays. Just plain lazy. Will see.

Mickey mouse play house

A big bunch of mickeys played in their play house yesterday, in what people said was the most happening political event. All the stories of jostling, pushing, screaming, chanting and what have yous. Poor poor Malaysia. I am embarassed.

The fault lines never end

Humans are not any divine creatures. So, however pure or immortal they are, people are bound to have weaknesses in them, one way or another. Problem is, humans dont recognise this and consider themselves above all. Above their gods. Or people are always having this denial syndrome, always.

Amidst all the promising changes that have been announced, I wonder why there are so many criticisms made and among those who criticised are the oppositions. These people never seemed to be able to stop talking or criticising. They never stop. They are not happy with any single thing. I actually feel sorry for them though at one time last year, they seemed to be the ones that we had to rely on to redeem this country from the mess. But now, no more. Pitiful lot.

Grace of God

Yesterday, something not good happened, something which is really world crushing by my standard. But by the grace of the Creator God, I was able to handle and accept the reality of it with relative ease. It is amazing how the Amazing Grace works. Praise the Lord.

Believe him?

The PM's actions since assuming power are reflective of my hopes for a better country. His past actions are not for me to judge or for that matter for anyone to judge. It's HIS alone.

I want to believe him. I want to believe him. My hope.

Earth Day 2009

After Earth Hour, it's Earth Day on 22 April. A day to wake up again to the realities of a dying mother earth and to do our sincere and diligent part in preserving her lifespan and ours.

Glimmer of hope?

It's Good Friday today, 10 April and on this day, I want to believe that there is a glimmer of hope for this nation that I live in. From the events of the past few days, I want to believe that God is moving in this land to change the course of events and directions. Will just to now wait out and see the changes that are coming through and in the meantime, continue to undergird these with prayers.

Thank you Lord Jesus for your blood and flesh and for the sufferings that you took upon youself on that cross, all because of the redemptive purpose for mankind. Amen.

Baihai - no, it's not a foreign language. It means, bye and hi!

Today marks the start of the process of one leader saying goodbye and another succeding the nation's top most position of power and saying hi to people.

Referring to the one saying hi, I am really fed up with the many attacks on him from all angles. Fed up to the hilt. Not that I favour him. It's just that I don't think it is our right to condemn him as if we are God and have seen all that happened with our own eyes and seen through the words and evidences of the subject matter of what he was accused of, that were brought forward by so many parties. And as if we were able to sieve through and verify everything before us. Are we God? What if we are wrong? What if? Why are we so righteous to be able to see through all these and agree that he is the one? Why? My stand is that we should just, in our prayer to the One Almighty God, for truth to surface and justice to prevail. Let God's will be done, just as in Heaven. Simple as that.

NEW YORK, March 13 - Bernard Madoff's new Manhattan home is the size of a walk-in closet, with cinderblock walls, linoleum floors and a bunk bed. Breakfast will be served before sunrise, and the disgraced financier can stretch his legs outside, but only every other day - in a cage. The Metropolitan Correctional Centre, which has housed accused terrorists and reputed mobsters, welcomed the 70-year-old Madoff yesterday after he pleaded guilty in one of Wall Street's biggest investment swindles and a judge revoked his bail. The federal jail in lower Manhattan stands between a courthouse and a church and holds inmates awaiting trial or serving short sentences. Currently, about 750 men and women are behind bars there. Since his arrest in December, Madoff has been confined to his US$7 million (RM25.2 million) penthouse apartment. When inmates first arrive at the jail, they are given physical and psychological exams and instructed on the rules. If cleared to enter the general population, they are issued a baggy brown uniform and assigned to cells measuring 7 ½-by-8 feet, each fitted with a sink and toilet.

Many inmates must share their cells with another prisoner, but it was not immediately clear Thursday whether Madoff would have a cellmate. There's a strict schedule: Lights on at 6 a.m., breakfast at 6:30 a.m., lunch at 11 a.m., dinner at 5 p.m., lights out at 11 p.m. During the day, inmates can watch television, play ping pong, work on their cases in a legal library or volunteer for janitorial duty. On alternate days, they are allowed up on the caged roof, where from courthouse windows they can be seen playing basketball. For court dates, they are shackled and escorted by deputy marshals through an underground tunnel.
The facility alots three hours a week for visits by family or lawyers. Inmates can also spend up to 300 minutes per month making phone calls, which can be monitored. Those who misbehave or present a risk of violence are thrown into a separate unit where they spend nearly all day locked in their cells and must endure strip searches and constant monitoring by cameras. Authorities tightened security in the unit after a guard was seriously injured in 2000 by a terrorist convicted in the 1998 embassy bombings in Kenya and Tanzania. Notable inmates have included blind sheik Omar Abdel-Rahman, who was sentenced to life in prison for plotting to blow up five New York landmarks and assassinate Egypt's president, and John "Junior" Gotti, the Gambino crime family scion now jailed in Brooklyn on murder charges. Current inmates include former Florida hedge fund manager Arthur Nadel, who is accused of bilking investors out of up to US$350 million. - AP

The pkr today tried to deliver a bull on a lorry to the macc to prove its point that MACC does not mean the malaysian commission for cars and cows. "why did they investigate the issue of 46 cows but sidelined all other reports?", pkr asked.

Asian stock markets resume slide after US rout
HONG KONG, March 6 — Asian stock markets resumed their downward slide today after
Wall Street fell to its lowest levels in more than 12 years amid deepening fears about the
future of General Motors Corp and major financial companies.
The region's retreat marked a return to the selling that had gripped global equities markets
until a brief rally earlier this week on hopes China would announced major new stimulus
measures.
Investors, already deflated after Beijing failed to deliver, were rattled by a warning from
General Motors that the struggling automaker may have to file for bankruptcy.
Along with growing uncertainty about the financial system, the news led to yet another rout
in US markets with banking stocks suffering some of the steepest drops. Citigroup Inc.,
stilling reeling despite billions of dollars in government aid, fell below US$1 (RM3.70) a
share.
"You can buy Citi at the 99 cent store now," said Paul Schulte, a chief Asia equity strategist
at Nomura International in Hong Kong. "It's nauseating. We keep grasping at straws to find
hope, and the markets keep punishing us."
Investors were also holding back ahead of what is expected to be an especially bleak US
employment report later today.

KUALA LUMPUR, March 6 —Bumiputra-Commerce Holdings Bhd has overtaken Citigroup Inc, the US bank which was once the world’s biggest bank, by market value, according to a Bloomberg report.
Bloomberg said that Citigroup fell as low as 97 US cents (RM3.60) in New York Stock
Exchange composite trading before closing at US$1.02, marking an 85 per cent decline this
year and giving the New York-based company a market value of US$5.7 billion.
Bumiputra-Commerce Holdings Bhd's market capitalisation as of today is RM22.2 billion
while its assets are valued at RM210 billion.
Based on data compiled by Bloomberg on the American bank, Citigroup Inc's market value
dropped below US$1 in New York trading for the first time as investors lost confidence the
shares can recover after more than US$37.5 billion in losses and a government rescue.
At its peak in late 2006, Citigroup stock was worth US$55.70, for a market value of
US$277.2 billion.

The pokok assembly

The country today saw an unprecedented, uncharted history being made. Definitely a record at all levels. A state assembly was convened in the shade of a tree.

What a malaysian politics has this become. Very childish, cartoonic, simply out of this world. Huh what, cant hear you - uhh, yes, very childish political game being played out in the open.

It is sickening, very sickening, very embarassing, and very worrying too to have all these games reaching this level. In as much as I would not support a street demonstration by anyone, it would be very hard to resist any efforts and attempts now for people to go out to the streets. Temper is rising, high and fast.

Go straight, take the bend and u-turn

The worse, oh sorry, the works minister announced that toll charges for five highways will be increased 1 March. That was just yesterday, 26 Feb and today, 27 Feb, just exactly a day after, the kabinet decided to reverse the decision, allowing the increase to take place only end of the year.

Do we have to say more? What's next?

The clarion call

In a few days from now, it will be exactly a year since the last general elections following which monkeys were elected to hold office to fight for our welfare, lives and future of this country. Well, needless to say, a clarion call has been sounded way before the anniversary and all the parties involved, whether ruling, opposition or (defector)independent ought to know what they face if things get out hand.

The following letter appeared as a full page advert in The Star on 26 Feb, taken out by Anas Zubedy. Anas helms Zubedy (M) Sdn Bhd, a company that focuses on providing consultancy services and training programs covering areas such as change management, leadership, skill-building, and many others. Anas is very concerned with the political crapola that's been ongoing close to one year on now.

Dear Malaysian Politicians,

Please stop the power chase, call for a truce and focus on the economy. I do not claim to speak on behalf of all Malaysians, but I have strong convictions that many share my sentiments. Our concern today is not who rules the country or heads the state governments but the looming bad economy. Whether Barisan Nasional or Pakatan Rakyat leads, it is meaningless if Malaysians have no job to go to, no money to pay rent and no means to put food on the table. I am a business owner, like other business owners and managers of corporations I have a responsibility to ensure people under my care and payroll continue to have jobs and a decent income to take home. We work hard and willing to go the extra mile to make sure our nation not only survive this crisis but come out stronger and wiser. We need your help. Let me explain. I am in the business of Training, Development and Consultancy and have 20 people in my team.

Saedah is 42. She keeps the office clean and helps organise the training rooms. She has four children and her husband is unemployed. She was first hired on a part time basis, because she is very hard working and has a great attitude, we offered her a full time job to help provide a stable income for her family. Even then, when her third child started school this year, it was a struggle for her to buy new school uniforms and other necessities. Saedah lives on a ‘kais bulan, makan bulan’ basis, so, if she is jobless, her tap runs dry.

Samsuri is 27 years old. He lives with his sister and her family in a low cost government flat in Sunway. He does our despatch, helps with various clerical works and occasionally acts as a driver. During the first week at zubedy, we learned that he not only did not have money to buy new clothes and shoes for work, he had no money for lunch. Like Saedah, if he has no job, his tap runs dry too.

Alicia in Client Servicing turns 26 this year. She lives with her dad who is 71 years old and retired. Her mom passed away when she was little. Alicia is a hard-working team member, has a gentle caring outlook and fun to be with. (We like to poke fun at her as she blushes easily). Last May her dad went through a major operation, thank God he has recovered well. Alicia needs a job, both for herself and her dad.

Sudesh, 38, is one of our facilitators. When his father passed away last year, he moved back and lives with his mother in Seremban. He shuttles between Kuala Lumpur and Seremban daily, leaving home sometimes as early as 4 in the morning and returning late at night. He is no stranger to hard work and sacrifice, he knows what he needs to do to survive and to care for his mother, but he too needs a job.

Like fellow Malaysians, every one of us in zubedy needs employment, those that live from hand to mouth like Saedah and Samsuri and others like Alicia and Sudesh with family to care for. We Malaysians need the Malaysian economy to be strong. We need you, our leaders, to work hard and to work together to make our economy viable.

So this is my plea.

Pakatan Rakyat, please stop your attempts to take over the federal government and persuade BN’s lawmakers to join you. Stop all legal proceedings, no more 916 and let go, just let go. The nation can wait till the next general elections if they want change. By doing so, Malaysians will see your party as caring, unselfish and gracious and give you their support in the next elections.

Barisan Nasional, please stop any attempts to take over PR states and win over PR’s lawmakers. You have proven your point with Perak. The nation can wait for the next general elections if they want your party. Focus all your talent, energy and hard work in steering the country out of an economic downturn. By doing so, Malaysians will see your party as caring, unselfish and smart and give you their support in the next elections.

BN and PR! Call for a truce. Get together and compromise. Someone has to give in. Or has hate consumed your heart till it blinds you? You can do it. You have enough intelligent people between you. I am sure you can find solutions. Take the nation to heart. That is why you are in politics in the first place.

Focus on the people.

Focus on the economy.

More monkey shows

Today, many monkeys showed their tricks in this "boleh land".

First show - many monkeys led by one or two king chimpanzees showed their faces, tricks and what have yous at the parliament house of this country. They called it "scuffle". I think this group of monkeys are perhaps (or I am convinced), the worst species of monkeys; they are like wild dogs instead and should be put to sleep.

Second show was the announcement of further burden on the pockets of people who from 1 March, will need to fork out more to travel the highways and ex-ways. What a timing. And yes, what a timing that toll collection for a certain stretch of a certain hi-way was removed just a few days ago and then the same concessionaire involved was asked to build and collect for another stretch. What a monyet show.

Malaysians are too tired of monkey shows. Will have a moo-tiny show perhaps.

Denial syndrome

The air of denial is very strong in this country. Somehow, it especially blows to the country leaders. Tak tahu! No-lah! No such thing lah! What recession? Huh, recession? Still growing what!! GDP still high what!!!

These are some of the very common expressions from the people who caught on the denial syndrome. Very sad indeed for the people of this country. Still got to and still can afford to wait until 10 March to deliver the next stimulus package!!! Wah, really "beh ta han leh" (cannot stand anymore).

The Bukit jinx

As of 17 Feb 2009, by-elections have been declared at two Bukit constituencies and another Bukit was added yesterday due to another now considered to berun-of-the-mill, generic type of character assassination that is going on in this nation.

How did we get into this situation? Easy. Just need to get yourself famous, then get onto some sexy pose, and post that pose onto the web or share around the phone network, and you are launched into a super stardom that comes with free publicities. The entire nation will be focused on you, fully distracted from the global crisis, and what have you nots. It is complicated. Life is complicated in Malaysia. It is confusing too. It is full of drama but bored drama.

People, after some time, are not interested anymore in this kind of wayang kulit. We people are anxious to move on. Malaysia needs to get over this jinx, the Bukit jinx.

Frog jumping show

For ones who have not seen a frog jumping before, this country is a good place to do so. Frogs are everywhere. You will get to see frogs everywhere and the interesting thing is that all the frogs jump, literally everywhere. The frogs are reared to be everywhere and reared to jump everywhere. Interesting frogs. Big frogs, small frogs, white frogs, black ones, grey ones also got. Fat ones (wooo, they can jump too!!!), small ones, thin ones,,,, they are all here.

And the best thing is,,,it's free. Need not pay any single penny to watch the frogs jump.

The chaotic silver state

As I blogged this, the loose alliance party that ruled the silverish state up north for close to a year has broken down and is out of the government. The alliance party of NB has won and will have one of its members sworn in as the chief in a few hours' time. Somehow this time, I have a feeling that this is the right move by the Sultan in deciding against a fresh polls for the state.

Let's wait and see.

The Reals are hammering kuat kuat the Hams. And the Hams continue to retaliate. The world is watching what these two will do next. The two do not care what the crowd is saying. It's a tough world out there,,,.

Fresh air of 2009

Yeah, I am sitting here in the office on the first Monday of the Year 2009. Yes, it's the new year of 2009 and the air this morning was fresh. It was a morning with lots of mist on the car screens and lots of fresh air to take in in the morning. The skies were good too. And as I looked out the windows from where I sit in the office, the skies and horizon out there looked beautiful.

Yeah, it's the fresh air of the year 2009. And it's a new beginning that I am looking forward to. A new beginning with interesting challenges. Challenges that I am uncertain of but know for certain that I will have to face. But I know too that, in the face of all these uncertainties, I have a GOD that I can lean on, like a solid rock - a SOLID ROCK as a matter of fact. I have a GOD that I can trust will provide, lead, guide, bless, and lean on. Halleluiah,,,,God is awesomely Good.
